Just a few months ago, this brand recalled more than 1 million products. Now more models are affected after reported injuries.

More Than 150,000 Popular Coolers Have Been Recalled Nationwide and in Canada and Mexico

As the temperatures rise and you’re off to the latest sports tournament, picnic, or beach day, packing up a portable cooler full of chilled beverages and deli sandwiches is the way to go. However, if your trusty cooler is from one particular brand known for their ability to keep food and drinks nice and frosty, it’s time to double-check to see if yours is still safe to use after a recently expanded recall event.
Because “the tow handle can pinch consumers’ fingertips against the cooler, posing fingertip amputation and crushing hazards,” Igloo is recalling 130,000 of their 90 Qt. Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers in the U.S., as well as 20,000 in Canada and 5,900 in Mexico, according to an announcement by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on Thursday morning.
Back in February, the CPSC informed the public that more than 1 million Igloo coolers were being recalled. A full products list for the original recall is available at the CPSC link.
In its latest report, the CPSC says the recall includes coolers manufactured before January 2024. The coolers were sold at prices between $80 and $140 at retailers such as Costco, Target, and Dick’s—as well as online at Amazon and on Igloo’s website—between January 2019 and January 2025.
More details have also emerged regarding consumer injuries: “Since the recall was announced in February 2025, Igloo has received 78 reports of fingertip injuries, including 26 resulting in fingertip amputations, bone fractures or lacerations.”
The latest product details provided by the CPSC are:
- LATITUDE 90 QT ROLLER, Model/SKU # 34692, Date Codes 07/2020 – 09/2021
- LATITUDE 90 QT ROLLER , Model/SKU # 34785, Date Codes 10/2021 – 12/2022
- MAXCOLD LATITUDE 90 QT ROLLER, Model/SKU # 34790, Date Codes 10/2021 – 02/2023
To find each cooler’s date of manufacture, the CPSC says to look at the bottom of the cooler, where the date is imprinted “in a circular pattern with an arrow pointing to the month of manufacture and the last two digits of the year of manufacture inside the circle.”
The model/SKU numbers can be found on labels “affixed” to the bottom of coolers.
All recalled coolers have a tow handle and the word “IGLOO” printed on the cooler’s side, per the report, and were sold in “multiple body and lid color combinations.”
The CPSC says consumers should “immediately” stop using any recalled coolers and can contact Igloo for a free replacement handle. Igloo currently has a specific recall website set up. Additional ways of contacting the company are provided at the above CPSC link.
